NEEQ SERENE STRIKES GOLD IN LOCKDOWN

-

GREAT new music acts bring something unique and Neeq Serene (right) firmly falls into that category with her clever combination of contrasting genres, including r’n’b, hip-hop, alternative and gothic neo-folk. She has followed up her 2020 debut song The Others with recent follow-up Fields Of Gold, which is layered with English and Urdu lyrics. The talented singer-songwriter created her philosophical new song during lockdown and recorded it in her home studio. “Fields Of Gold was inspired by quite a tumultuous emotional landscape to be honest, comprising fear, anxiety, love and hope – the fear of losing those we love, acknowledgement for the blessing that is creation and hope for a world beyond here, where we can be together again. The track was more like a motif of expression and I really appreciate its cathartic value for this reason,” said Neeq Serene. The British Asian artist is currently working on her debut EP, which is due for release in the summer and looking forward to performing live when lockdown ends. She said: “If for any reason the current restrictions continue further than expected, I will be happy just working on new material and exploring different avenues to channel my creativity. There is always so much to learn.”
