Puff pastry biscuits with cumin and black pepper

-

THESE biscuits are easy to make and very tasty.

Ingredients:

1 packet of puff pastry ¼ tsp sea salt or to taste ½ tsp crushed black pepper 1 tsp lightly crushed cumin seeds

1 tbsp of melted butter

Method:

Preheat the oven to 210°C, or gas mark 6.

Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured board and brush with the melted butter.

Evenly sprinkle the sea salt, crushed black pepper and lightly crushed cumin seeds over the whole surface of the puff pastry sheet. Then lightly go over the surface with a rolling pin to lodge the spices into the dough.

Using a sharp knife cut along the whole length of the pastry and then vertically into six or eight even lengths. Place each piece onto a lined baking tray with some space between each piece and place in the preheated oven. Bake for about 14 to 16 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.

Place the biscuits on a cooling rack and once cold store in an airtight container. Delicious with a cup of tea.
