Top UK firms in India highlighted
A NEW ‘Britain Meets India’ report released last Wednesday (17) has identified 572 UK firms in India, with a combined turnover of around `3,390 billion (£33bn), tax payment of around `173bn with 416,121 being employed in 2019-20.
The report, by Grant Thornton Bharat and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is a sister tracker of an annual ‘India Meets Britain’ tracker of Indian companies in the UK. It has highlighted some of Britain’s fastest growing companies in
India, led by Dyson Technologies and Aviva Life Insurance Company, both of which registered a growth of more than 100 per cent.
Metals and mining major Vedanta Ltd was the highest revenue earner and the top employer is security services company G4S Plc. “This reflects the important contribution made by the UK companies to the Indian economy,” said Pallavi Joshi Bakhru, partner and India-UK Corridor leader at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP.
