Small boom in Asian weddings

-

THE Asian wedding industry has “gone crazy” with bookings ahead of the summer as Covid curbs look set to ease further, Leicester business owners have said.

The wedding industry has taken a hit with countless events being cancelled or rescheduled due to government guidelines. Eastern Eye spoke to several business owners in January who admitted they were struggling financially.

Wedding planner Priti Raichura said she has been swamped with bookings. “Things have just gone crazy with the wedding industry at the moment, it’s like a little boom,” she said. “From June, when restrictions are eased, we have back-to-back weddings.”

However, there are still some concerns that weddings will be cancelled if restrictions do not ease.

Salman Patel, owner of Taiba Lounge, has also said he has a busy summer ahead with a “year of weddings within the space of three months”.
