Lloyds to fund Asian charities
CHARITIES for and led by black, Asian and minority ethnic communities (BAME) which provided vital services during the pandemic are being invited to apply for grants of £50,000 from the Lloyds Bank Foundation.
The foundation said it will award a total of £9.5 million in 2021 to 190 small charities with an income between £25,000 and £1m across England and Wales.
Of this, a minimum of 25 per cent of funding will be allocated to charities where more than half of the board trustees identify as BAME, and which have a proven record of helping people from minority communities.
Paul Streets, the Lloyds Bank Foundation CEO, said: “Last year has been challenging for little charities responding to the pandemic... and providing support to folks that need them the most. Locally rooted charities need long-term support to assist left-behind communities to recover.”
