Murali ‘better’ after surgery
SPIN legend Muttiah Muralitharan (above) was “doing well” after a heart procedure at a Chennai hospital, a spokesman for the Sri Lankan’s Indian Premier League (IPL) side Sunrisers Hyderabad said on Monday (19).
“A blockage was detected at the end of March. So it (angioplasty) was a routine procedure,” the spokesman told reporters.
Muralitharan, 49, is the leading wicket-taker in international cricket with 1,347 scalps, including 800 in Test matches. He played for Sri Lanka in 133 Tests, 350 ODIs and 12 T20 Internationals.
“Wishing Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan, who was recently hospitalised for cardiac treatment, a speedy recovery,” the ICC said in a tweet.
