Varma joins Star Wars

PRODUCTION on an upcoming Star Wars

series starring British Indian actress Indira Varma (right) has begun, it was reported.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is an upcoming series marking the return of actor Ewan McGregor as the titular character. The plot follows the story a decade after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Filming began last month, it was confirmed. Varma, 47, has been cast in an as-of-yet unknown role. Her role was announced in March.

The actress is best known for her role in 1995 film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love and Game of Thrones.
