I’m a Celeb’s Naughty Boy reveals long-hidden family tragedy

-

THE DJ and record producer, Naughty Boy, has told his campmates in the reality TV show I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here of a childhood tragedy that he has kept secret.

Also known as Shahid Khan, the music producer revealed his sister Samaira died in an accident with a school bus at the age of just seven.

His older sister, Saira, said the siblings were close and Naughty Boy would be quiet when talking about her with their mother.

She added that the family are having to relive the 1989 accident in Watford because their mother Zahida, 67, has dementia and thinks Samaira is still alive.

Saira said: “They were really close and always played together. They were best buds. I think he blocked it out as a child. He wouldn’t talk about it.

“He would go quiet when I talked about her as he remembers their times together.

“We talk about her a lot more nowadays. When we go to pick up food or clothes, mum asks us to buy things for her.”

She added: “Shahid gets emotional when we are talking about it to mum constantly. She’ll always be a part of our lives and we have fond memories of her.

“I hope he’ll be able to find moments where he is able to confide in his campmates and use it as therapy.”

It also emerged that Naughty Boy was lying on the show about his age. ITV have given the music producer’s age as 36 in an official press release.

It states: “Famed for his love of cooking, the 36-year-old hopes to rustle up some meals in the castle by taking on the role of chef. He also hopes to be someone who everyone can confide in.”

The 40-year-old – which is his real age – had also been claiming that he is 36 in other interviews, but official documents show he will be 41 on January 1.

Last Friday (26), viewers of I’m A Celebrity... took to social media to claim Naughty Boy was given the “easiest ever” trial after he threatened to quit the show.

But after winning all 11 stars in the Creepy Closets trial last Friday night,

the Watford-born musician decided to stay on.

One user said: “I feel like this trial was “dumbed down” to Naughty Boy’s level… just seems so easy.”

Another wrote: “Why did they give Naughty Boy a children’s trial? I’m fed up now”.
