SHANTARAM ARRIVES ON APPLE IN OCTOBER

AFTER endless delays and setbacks, audiences will finally be able to see a live action adaptation of Gregory David Roberts’s 2003 bestseller Shantaram from October 14.

The drama series starring Charlie Hunnam (left) will premiere with three episodes on Apple TV+ before moving to a weekly release through to December 16.

The story of an Australian drugaddicted fugitive on the run, who lands up on the mean streets of Mumbai in the 1980s, was originally supposed to be a major Hollywood movie, headlined by Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan, but the project was abandoned.

The TV series commenced production in 2018 and faced several problems, including the pandemic, but is now finally ready.
