PERIOD ROLE ADDS TO DIVIAN’S LIST OF BIG MOVIE PROJECTS
BRITISH actor Divian Ladwa has added to his impressive list of high-profile films, which includes Ant-Man And The Wasp, Lion and The Personal History of David Copperfield, with a role in new film Mr Malcolm’s List (left). The period romance with colour-blind casting is in cinemas from Friday (26) and has received great reviews. The lead cast includes Frieda Pinto, Zawe Ashton and Sope Dirisu.
Divian told me: “Mr Malcolm’s List is a beautifully shot period romance with a swooping musical score, gorgeous costumes, and a wonderfully diverse cast. This is very rare for films in general, let alone period films. I had a great opportunity to play John, a comical role, who aids Miss Thistlewaite exact her revenge. The director Emma Holly Jones allowed me room to improvise and helped me create humorous moments to go with the romantic tones of the movie. It’s an uplifting film, perfect for those who are romantic at heart.”
