Issas targeting Co-op forecourts

-

ASDA’S owners are looking to acquire the Co-op Group’s petrol forecourts business, Sky News reported on Monday (29).

Asda is owned by the millionaire Issa brothers from Blackburn, and TDR Capital, which also controls the EG Group, one of the largest independent fuel retailers in Europe.

Sky News said last month that the Co-op was working with bankers at Rothschild to explore a sale of its estate of roughly 130 petrol forecourt sites.

The Issa brothers, who run petrol stations and food outlets worldwide, bought their first petrol station in 2001, which was the start of Euro Garages. It has grown into an international group running 6,000 sites across

three continents.
