Shockingly written action-drama is a complete shambles

-

POPULAR actor Vijay Deverakonda has made a name for himself in Telugu cinema with blockbuster hits like Arjun Reddy and finally delivered his Bollywood debut with this romantic action-drama.

Liger moves to Mumbai with his mother and commences training to become a mixed martial arts fighter. An expert agrees to teach him if he remains focused. Liger has a heavy stammer and goes against that request by forming a romantic relationship with a woman, who lets him down. What follows is a fight tournament and characters generally not liking one another. To call this big budget movie one of the most badly written screenplays of the year is a massive understatement. In fact, the writing is so bad that it seems like the creative team quickly ran out of ideas and stitched together stretched scenes. But perhaps the most criminal aspect of the lazy writing was the lack of a climax and an abrupt ending.

At the centre of this colossal mess is a talented lead star, who is made to overact from start to finish, which is so over the top that it becomes grating and unintentionally funny. It is made worse by him starring opposite wooden actress Ananya Panday and a bored looking supporting cast, including

Mike Tyson, who most likely only turned up on set for a pay day. The terrible music is unable to break up the tortuous film and there really isn’t much else. This film not only takes audiences for granted, but also filmmaking in general.

Deverakonda deserved better for his Bollywood debut and so did the audience. That is why one of the worst Indian films of the year should be avoided if you are unfortunate enough to come across it.
