Spicing up baby names

-

A COUPLE have found a novel way to show their love for pakora [savory deepfried snack] by naming their newborn daughter after the Indian delicacy.

The Captain’s Table, a restaurant in Newtownabbey in Ireland, took to social media to share a photograph of baby Pakora, the child of two of their frequent customers, and a picture of a receipt of what the pair ate – which had only pakora dishes.

“Now this is a first… welcome to the world Pakora! We can’t wait to meet you! xx” the restaurant posted.

Many people commented on the post, extending congratulations to the couple, while some got involved in fun banter online with humourous comments.

A user wrote, “This is my two teens – Chicken and tikka”.

Another commented, “My favourite things to eat during my two pregnancies were banana popsicles and watermelon. Thank God I used the sense I was born with and did not name my kids after them”.

Yet another shared a photograph of his child, saying, “This is my kid, his name is chicken ball.”
