A FAME GAME FLOP FOR MADHURI DIXIT
WHEN badly made series The Fame Game was released earlier this year, I had said it was slow-moving self-indulgent nonsense and predicted that Netflix would likely not make a second season. That is why I am not surprised by reports that the Madhuri DixitNene headlined drama revolving around a popular actress is being cancelled. The obviously fake positive reviews by media in India haven’t been able to save the series, and it is another illustration of how unbelievably clueless streaming sites are when greenlighting poor Indian projects like this. It also shows that producers are wasting the world-class talent of Madhuri, who has not been able to get the great acting projects she deserves in recent years. The Bollywood icon is currently judging popular dance reality TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, but she deserves to be playing great roles in well-made films and serials.
