Sir Keir: She will be missed

LABOUR leader Sir Keir Starmer paid tribute to Mrs Solanki, as he highlighted her pivotal role as a cofounder of Garavi Gujarat and the Asian Media Group (AMG).

In a letter of condolence to the Solanki family, Sir Keir said, “Your parents were incredible pioneers of Asian media in this country.

“Your mother will be sorely missed by the entire community for the pivotal role that she played in founding the Garavi Gujarat newsweekly in 1968 and driving forward the growth of the Asian Media Group ever since”.

He noted the legacy of Mrs Solanki and her husband, Ramniklal Solanki, who passed away in March 2020, and expressed his hope that AMG “continues to grow

in strength”.
