Delhi and London discuss defence cooperation
INDIA’S defence secretary Ajay Kumar on Tuesday (4) held talks with Britain’s permanent under-secretary of state for defence, David Williams, with a focus on issues relating to bilateral defence and industrial cooperation.
The deliberations took place during the meeting of the India-UK Defence Consultative Group. “They reviewed the progress of various service-level bilateral groups and other defence cooperation mechanisms,” India’s defence ministry said.
“Both sides considered new areas for defence industrial cooperation, explored emerging domains such as cyber and artificial Intelligence, and committed to work together to strengthen the bilateral defence relationship.”
Defence secretary Kumar also held a meeting with British National Security Adviser Sir Tim Barrow.
“They discussed a number of key defence and security issues,” the ministry said.
