Partisan politics on LBC
LABOUR’S shadow foreign secretary, David Lammy (right), “interviewed” the Tory peer Lord Moylan on his LBC show last Sunday (2), and made the point that while a pupil at Eton costs £40,000 a year, expenditure on a student in a state school comes to £6,000.
I was keen to hear Moylan’s response, but Lammy moved swiftly on, possibly fearing the peer would have a good answer. Lammy should listen to Iain Dale, who has an intelligent conversation, especially when he disagrees with a caller.
It is for LBC to judge whether listeners get value from partisan politicians.
Boris Johnson’s journalist sister, Rachel Johnson, also has her own show, where she is coming across as being remarkably critical of Liz Truss’s government.
She is not her brother’s keeper, but is she reflecting his views on Truss?
