KEENLY AWAITED FILM MAY UNDERPERFORM

LOLLYWOOD film The Legend of Maula Jatt (above) will be released globally on October 13 after delays brought on by a legal battle. But the hotly anticipated Punjabi language action-drama may not do the record-breaking box office figures everyone, including me, expected. Firstly, the film will be released in the direct aftermath of the deadly Pakistani floods and secondly, producers may have taken audiences for granted by doing shockingly poor marketing. Lead stars

Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick have hardly promoted it, and there has been relatively little coverage. All of this is not a great sign for a film that everyone has high hopes for.
