SAY what you like about former Labour MP Keith Vaz, but he keeps coming up with brilliant ideas.
He has written to the prime minister, addressing her as “Liz” and signing himself “Keith”, urging her to confer an honorary knighthood on Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan
to mark his 80th birthday (on Tuesday, 11) in “recognition of his notable work in the field of art by bringing cultures together”.
I know some people are unforgiving, but I would also very much like to see Vaz being given a peerage.
The politician still has much to do for the British Asian community, not least in Leicester.
