RAVEENA EXPLORES THE DEPTHS OF LOVE

-

SINGER-SONGWRITER Raveena Mehta (above) adds to her growing list of great music with new song Bewafaa.

The talented music star, born in Belgium and based in Mumbai, has once again shown off her impressive versality and hopes everyone connects with Bewafaa on an emotional level. I caught up with her to find out more about the top track.

What inspired your new song?

Bewafaa wasn’t necessarily inspired solely from one thing. This was an accumulation of a vibe, thought and desire to create something, which has an immense amount of depth, sorrow, and strength in it.

How does Bewafaa compare to other songs you have done? Bewafaa is a hard-hitting song about unrequited love and disloyalty. This song will resonate with many people, owing to the powerful lyrics, relatability, and a memorable hook line. It encapsulates Hindi and Punjabi lyrics, which blend together to create a unique and soul wrenching song. Bewafaa is an emotion and has the potential to be an anthem. My vocals and tone are very different on this than my other songs. I have sung in a folk texture for the first time, on a portion of this song, which was very exciting for me.

Who are you hoping connects with it?

I’m hoping that men and women around the world can connect to Bewafaa, as it’s extremely relatable. This song is for all those who, at some point, have felt so helpless and hopeless, yet remained fearless and dealt with the issue head on.
