Growing tip

Place 15cm of compost into the container and add two to four seed potatoes depending on the size of the container. Cover with a similar depth of compost and water – from now on, never allow the soil to dry out.

Once the foliage starts to emerge, keep topping up with more compost, leaving about 3cm of the plant peeking through. Keep earthing up to a depth of 50-60cm. Once the foliage turns yellow, it’s time to harvest the potatoes.
