Plant in a row in soil or a few evenly spaced rows in a good sized plastic tub – at least 20cm in diameter and plant cloves at least 10cm apart, 2.5cm under the soil. Buy specialist grow-your-own garlic as culinary cloves might have been treated with retardant, and remember each clove will transform into a whole head.
