I need some design inspiration
I’ve got a new garden that’s not much more than a square of grass, do you have any tips for ways I could play around with the layout to make the most of the space? the best way to start thinking about layout is to
QAreally get to know your space. look at how the sun moves during the day – if you know you will mostly sit outside in the evening, there’s no point in putting a terrace somewhere that only gets morning sun. Also take note of things like good/bad views, the soil, your garden’s climate and how it is affected by wind and rainfall.
From there it’s a good idea to draw a scale plan of your garden and start playing around with different shapes to see what works well. i’d also start gathering images of other gardens you like and anything else that inspires you.
