Good pruning will help maintain a healthy plant and improve the chances of it flowering. it isn’t as complicated as people think, either. Prune twice a year – once around July or August cutting back the whippy growth to six or seven leaves from the main stem. then again around January or February, cutting back the same growth to two or three buds from the main stem.
Finally, give your plant a feed in spring with growmore, blood, fish and bone fertiliser, or a potash feed.
