Climber opportunity

I’ve put an iron railing in my garden, but I’d like it to blend into the rest of the greenery with some foliage – what climbers would you recommend?

need to be evergreen, or to provide year-round interest? is it close to a pathway and therfore the ideal place for scented flowers? i love climbing roses, especially those that have autumn hips too like ‘the Generous Gardener’ or ‘Shropshire lass’. clematis are another super option, or if you are looking for an evergreen, trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine) is a good one with stronglyscented flowers, too.
