A spectacular laburnum arch
The Dorothy Clive Garden in Market Drayton, Shropshire (dorothyclivegarden.co.uk), is intimate and informal and, in May, features an unmissable laburnum and allium arch. The woodland has over 120 edible plants, and there’s a quarry, alpine scree, waterfall and rose walk.
In spring, notable collections of azaleas, rhododendrons and camellias fill the garden with colour. And don’t miss the Plant Hunters’ Fair
(21-22 April), and Art in the Garden (27 April-5 May).
