Sometimes all it takes is great teamwork to achieve the outdoor space you want. The Loudwigs decided to give landscaping a go themselves and they achieved a finish that is truly inspiring! Philippa’s two children mucked in, as well as her husband and her sister, to get the job done.
Man cave Husband Francois works from home so an outdoor office was a welcome addition. Though hard work and enthusiasm are by no means lacking in the Loudwig household, this project was a little beyond their capabilities, so a specialist company installed it for them.
lush planting The tree blocks some light from getting to this bed so it’s been filled with a variety of shade-loving perrenials and some evergreen shrubs for year-round colour.
edge to edge They’ve played around with curves to create beds around the borders that are interestingly-shaped and slightly raised. Doing so has softened hard lines and given the overall layout a more stylised look.
in the zone The family laid a patio area for alfresco dining that’s big enough to accommodate the entire clan. There’s also a more intimate ‘love seat’-style bench made for two.
