Depending on my mood, beetroot quite often finds itself at the top of my favourite vegetables to grow and eat. It’s an ongoing battle between beetroot, peas, and Swiss chard. Many people think they don’t like
beetroot until they taste the home-grown version. The wonderful earthy sweetness and smooth texture of the roots really don’t need to be doused in vinegar. The leaves also look attractive in a raised bed, with their dark red veins.
