Natural screens
If camouflage is needed, there are few better ways than planting fast-growing evergreen shrubs, such as Photinia x fraseri ‘Red Robin’, Elaeagnus x ebbingei ‘Limelight’ or Pittosporum tobira, each of which quickly merge together to create informal screening. Some of the best plants for hiding an eyesore are star jasmine, potato vine or honeysuckle. A formal look is achieved with clipped yew, escallonia or cherry laurel. Alternatively, sturdy trellis is soon covered with evergreen climbers, such as clematis.
