Planting and care
■ Plant in as sunny a spot as possible – pansies are more partial to sunshine than violas, but both will tolerate some shade.
■ If planting in borders, do so while the soil is still warm. This will help plants to establish and flower through winter. ■ Deadhead regularly to keep the flowers coming all season.
■ Avoid planting pansies and violas in the same compost two years running to help reduce the chance of diseases such as leaf spot and downy mildew.
