Mellow yellow

Plant up a yellow, green and white scheme for late winter and spring in a galvanised tub. Soon you’ll be able to buy these plants at your garden centre and arrange them for instant gratification. The interesting greenery you see is succulent ‘myrtle spurge’, which has a unique texture that weaves its way through the spring stars.

What you will need

• Galvanised tin tub with

drainage holes

• Yellow polyanthus • Primroses

• Euphorbia myrsinites

(myrtle spurge) • Narcissus ‘Topolino’ • Crocus ‘Kathleen Parlow’ • Potting compost

■ Half fill your tub with compost and begin arranging your flowers and shrubs. The primroses have large deep green leaves that will look nice spilling over the front of the tub. The euphorbia will give a gorgeous pop of texture in the gaps between the daffodils and crocuses. The taller polyanthus should be stationed at the back.
