HOW TO PLANT

● Choose tall evergreens with bold foliage like trachycarpus, or Eriobotrya (loquat tree). Add drama with spiky feature plants like cordylines.

● Underplant with dense ground cover – evergreen ferns and grasses are perfect. In summer, crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ provides swordlike leaves and sizzling colour.

● Add cannas and cactustype dahlias, like ‘Indian Summer’. Give them a sunny spot and protect in winter.
