Plant a basket for Mother’s Day

1 Start filling the pot or basket with compost. If your container isn’t lined, you will need to line it to prevent compost and water leaking. 2 Remove your chosen plants from their pots, tease out their roots and add them to the basket. Put tall ones in the middle and small ones towards the outside. Try a mixture of hyacinths, dwarf daffodils, variegated ivy and violas.

3 Fill the container with more compost and water it well. Let it drain and keep it somewhere light and cool until Mother’s Day.
