Green for contrast
The main colour in any garden is generally green. Calming and restful on the eyes, subtle tones of green help relieve stress and make a space contemplative. But as well as forming a backdrop it can take centre stage too. Fresh green pops out at you and grabs your attention, adding zing that can be uplifting on grey days. Bright green tones of emerald and chartreuse,
lime and moss will add a vivid touch that’s anything but a monotonous filler. The right shade of green will also illuminate shady spots and add brightness to a dark corner.
