Generally, to be in use yearround, a seat requires shelter and a heating source. So, if you want to get more use out of a seating area, you should station it near a wall or hedge to reduce wind and provide privacy. You can also add shelter later if needed by installing a trellis and training climbers. For heating, a firepit is the quickest solution.
