Small spaces

Don’t be disheartened if you only have a modest-sized space as you don’t necessarily need acres for outdoor seating. A compact dining table and a couple of chairs can be tucked onto a small roof terrace or balcony to enjoy intimate meals al fresco.

Round tables are more intimate and well suited to restricted spaces. It’s best to have one permanent seat with additional seating stored within easy reach and brought out when needed. You may not be able to squeeze in a long trestle table or a bank of storage seats, but even some floor cushions and a blanket could be a good option for surplus guests.
