QUICK JOB

To get a second flush of flowers from your perennials, use the ‘Chelsea chop’ technique. The trick is to cut down stems around the outer edges by half, leaving the centre to flower at the normal time. By the time the centre has finished, the outside growths will have grown up and bloomed, thus extending the flowering period.
