Arrests for protest group who held ‘picnic’ in supermarket with food from shelves
Make them work in the store or elsewhere for free until they have worked off the full retail value of the goods they consumed. Let them know actions have consequences Sue Middleton
You don't think they have very valid points to make? Working people using foodbanks while corporate multi national supermarket chain bosses become billionaires? The unfair distribution of wealth? Poverty? The cost of living (cost of greed) crisis. Shareholders profits taking precedence over national food security? Etc etc.

We are all struggling somehow or another but doesn’t give us the right to walk into places and help ourselves without paying, bet they can still afford luxury items like a phone etc

Among other factors taken into account when setting prices in shops is the cost of theft

Other than gaining a criminal conviction for theft & possibly breach of the peace, what are these individuals hoping to achieve with the disruptive sit in?
Richard Elam
Bravely accepting the punishment to hopefully raise public awareness of a something that ultimately affects all of us. Well done to them

Been in the same rented house for 13 years. Worked out I’ve paid just under £100k in rent on this house alone. Single mum, always worked but currently studying to become a nurse, never missed a rent payment, but likely no chance of ever buying a home. Also been on council list for 13 years, but since I’m not emergency I’ll never get a council house.
It is what it is I guess I’m very lucky I’ve got a good landlord and I’ve been able to bring my kids up in a stable, safe home

Yes. My husband and I are pensioners and living in a damp cottage in Edinburgh.
The agency stripped our walls as they were covered with polystyrene in October and we are still sitting in a damp house but the walls are stripped bare. Why in this day and age have people got to live like this… we have worked all our lives!

I live in private rented accommodation, I’ve been on the housing list for years, I’m 65 & due to retire next year. I live with the constant worry of the landlord saying the house is going up for sale, I’ve lived & worked in this country all my life maybe a little charity begins at home should happen along with building more social housing not everyone can afford to buy a property

Are you struggling to get onto the housing ladder or are you trapped in the rent cycle?
