Arsenal plot £86m summer striker swoop as duo race to sign Serie A ace

All the latest Premier League transfer rumours including updates from Liverpool, West Ham United and Arsenal

We begin today’s Premier League transfer rumour round-up with a report detailing Chelsea and

apparent shared interest in Napoli playmaker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian has been in improved form of late following a difficult patch in Naples, and according to Area Napoli, the 23-year-old is on the radar of both the Blues and the Reds – although a transfer in the near future could be unlikely as Napoli are keen to hang on to the player for another year.

The 3AM Verdict: It sounds like Kvaratskhelia is set to stay in Italy for the time being, but it is understandable that both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested as the Georgian is one of the most exciting young creative talents in Europe.

Staying with Napoli, it has been suggested that the Italian giants are keen on signing West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Greek centre-back was originally targeted over the summer but Napoli signed Brazilian talent Natan, and Mavropanos ended up in East London.

But so far, Natan has struggled at his new club, and Mavropanos has remained on Naples’ radar.

The 3AM Verdict: It feels unlikely that West Ham will willingly sell Mavropanos any time soon. The defender cost the Hammers £17 million just a few short months ago, and has been playing a decent amount under David Moyes.

And finally, Arsenal are said to be considering a swoop for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede was previously on the books at Coventry City, and has been in electric form since making the move to Portugal, scoring 32 goals in 35 matches across all competitions this season.

At the time of writing, it is understood that Gyokeres has a release clause of around £85.6 million folded into his contract.

The 3AM Verdict: The way that things are going for Gyokeres, if it isn’t Arsenal who submit a massive bid, it will certainly be somebody else.
