Should alcohol free beer be available on draught in pubs?

-

It is a brilliant idea it would be nice to have a pint of AF beer on tap in pubs. Guinness 0.0 is the closest we have to a pint itself as the cans are big when most AF drinks are served in bottles and we are given small glasses to pour them in

Euan Buchan

Yes. Some of the actually taste better than the real thing Gavin Marks

I know it's a Glasgow pub, but the Raven in Renfield Street sells Heineken Zero pints on draft. Not everyone's favourite, but a viable option if that makes you feel included. More Edinburgh pubs should do something similar

Angus Sturrock

Of course! Some of these are healthier than soft drinks and you can still have a ‘beer’ on a night out if driving or on a health kick. Lo & No alcohol options are much better than they were years ago

JP Stothard

Yes and cheaper Dot Aitchison

Only problem there is a Keg has a Short shelf life so you’d need to supply the Pub the smallest Kegs available or otherwise it would just go off. I can’t see it being a regular tipple for anyone

Alan Dewar

Great idea, only problem for a landlord is AF beer goes off very quickly, around 2 weeks so might waste a lot

Steve Bowler

A lot better than they used to be, but profit seems to be the same if its the real thing or AF, but yes, good to have the option if you want it

Donald Leask

It would need to have a long life

Alan Rumble

I’m not sure why this is a question? It’s not like pubs exclusively only sell alcoholic drinks?

Licensed premises, like all businesses, need to diversify to thrive. If the people want lo and no beers, they should stock them

Rachel Sutherland

I don’t see the point in AF drinks, beer or spirits. You either want a drink or you don’t, why have a fake? Karen Finlay

Yes, great idea. In Amsterdam schipol airport the heineken bar has non alcoholic on tap. Very nice

Derek Wilson

Can pubs afford to turn business away?

I had to give up alcohol on medical grounds but since I have found you don’t need it in company to have an enjoyable time

Charles Lowson
