Blueprint for future of our streets

Absolute madness. More congestion equals more harmful omissions. As a disabled person with very restricted walking ability and lung function, can anyone from this council please explain how I’m to be able to get about my city. This council seem to live in a world of fit healthy people who can walk/run/cycle everywhere. Please wake up and stop this madness

Pauline Downie

Absolute madness Charles Ramsay

Building a tram route from Granton to the Royal Infirmary is a guaranteed way to increase congestion and disruption for the next God knows how many years. Excellent joined up thinking as usual

Martin Delaney

The irony is cycling in the city is absolute appalling. It’s not cars which are the issue. It’s the poor standard of road, the vast amounts of diesel powered buses and poorly designed/mismanaged cycle lanes. All of which is managed by the council

Craig Jones

Maybe if there was some sort of plan in place where residents don’t get priced out of living in their city and then have to commute in to work in the city each day?

Dann Hwll

As a car and bus driver in this city they really need to stop mucking about, they have caused majority of the congestion in and around the city with road closures for spaces for people, and also roadworks diversions for example with all the issues at Cameron Toll. Why not open Prestonfield as a diversion and turn off the bus gate. Allow the traffic to flow freely and you avoid congestion, simples

Colin Herkes

The council have given the go ahead for more homes to be built and yet are cutting the road infrastructure to make Edinburgh “less” congested! I’m unsure what planet these councillors live on but their proposed actions are the polar opposite of what they claim to be trying to achieve! Are they expecting all these new residents to not have vehicles?

Their target for and proposals to get to Net Zero are sadly laughable and completely unachievable!

Making vehicles travel much further to get from A to B is not in any way helping congestion or pollution! Alastair Cuthbertson

Scott Arthur has repeatedly proved his incompetence and these illiterate plans just make no sense

Tony Lally

Edinburgh’s finished Callum Kemp

Demolish the cycle lanes as mostly never busy and a hazard to drivers

Carolyn Taylor

What I don’t understand is why the council are not promoting the union canal as a city centre to West Edinburgh cycle gateway?

It’s completely flat the whole way, it’s away from roads most of the time and takes you right out to Ratho and further. Investment for routes coming off and to the canal would surely be better than trying to weave cyclists on and off this new west cycle route they’ve created

Jamie Heseltine

Edinburgh is finished now, there will be nothing left in the city

Mark McDonald

Talking about Lothian Road becoming the main way through the centre, but no mention that from June this becomes Low Emission Zone with limited access for vehicles?!
