Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel are executive producers and members of a starry voice cast for an animated adventure based on the Ark: Survival Evolved open world video game.

Grief-stricken 21st-century palaeontol­ogist Helena Walker (voiced by Madeleine Madden) washes up on the shore of a fantastica­l island called the Ark, inhabited by dinosaurs and other majestic creatures, shortly after the death of her wife (Elliot Page). The Ark is home to warring tribes and characters from different points in history including tyrannical Roman General Gaius Marcellus Nerva (Butler), 3rd-century Chinese rebel leader Meiyin Li (Michelle Yeoh), 17th-century Inuit teenager Alasie (Devery Jacobs) and Second World War US Army Ranger Bob (Karl Urban).

Helena calls upon her scientific training to survive her new surroundin­gs and find her place on the Ark.
