Residents fallen in love with trams since Newhaven line opened, claims Scott Arthur

-

I live in Edinburgh but have never been on one. The route is so limited. OK if you live in Leith or Corstorphine but not much good for the rest of us. I don’t suppose I’ll see any trams at my side of town in my lifetime

Janice McGrath-Scott

Why did the city with the best bus service in the UK need trams in the first place?

John Jameson

The line on Leith Walk to Leith and Newhaven is fantastic. I look forward to the next phase via the Bridges and Southside to the RIE, and in the future a city-wide network of tram lines

Mike Avern

I used them regular. So handy and quicker journeys

Karen Ross

I love the Trams! Robert Murphy

Love the trams Alan Foz

I love them Joscelyn Williamson

Looking forward to when you clear up the mess you made of the road and pavements in Montgomery Street from when your tramworks hub was there – difficult to fall in love with tidying up after

yourself isn’t it? Roy Spiers

Not remotely accessible for those who don’t live close enough to their nearest tram line, eg: Saughton is my nearest tram stop, if I was able bodied, I’d still need to take a bus to Saughton or drive there to get on a tram which defeats the purpose. The only people who gain from them are those who live close to the line and/or those who are able bodied to walk to a tram stop

Pamela Mitchell

One of the best things to happen in Edinburgh for years Ian Moran

Yes they’re the best thing to happen in Edinburgh for years time we had more lines to different places

Paul Burgess

Love the tram, hate the process that got them made. Could have been done in half

the time Charalampos Babis Koundourakis

I love the trams but they need park and ride at saughton and more people could use them Alexandra Culbard

We had all this before but they changed their mind, how will they last this time? Peter Paton

In Warsaw tram lines are

nearly everywhere and it’s honestly great, avoiding all the traffic is attractive to many residents so in turn – less cars on the roads. And monthly public transport card is definitely much cheaper than taking care of a car Emilia Magdalena M

So much better than waiting 20-30 minutes for a bus Jon Prete

I live in Leith and I can honestly say I haven’t fallen in love! Well not yet anyway Jaynie Richardson

Scott Arthur serves the Fairmilehead & Colinton area & have you seen the craters at the Fairmilehead crossroads he should focus his attention on the state of the roads in his own ward rather than get overly excited at a very expensive & millions over budget train set that like the Channel tunnel will never be in the Black in our lifetime Rob Downie

?? ?? It is hoped one million people a month will use the Newhaven tramline
