Welcome To Wrexham – Season 3 (starts streaming from May 3 exclusively on Disney+)

- WITH STUART CHANDLER

The second series of docuseries Welcome To Wrexham secured a fairy tale finish when the third oldest professional football club in the world, Wrexham AFC, secured promotion to EFL League Two. Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney face heightened expectations when Welcome To Wrexham returns for more drama during the 202324 season. The small, closeknit community revels in the club’s return to the fourth tier of English football after a 15-year absence with the tantalising possibility of a second successive promotion. However, the first match of the season is a sobering reality check, reminding dedicated staff and supporters that Hollywood glamour in the stands can’t guarantee victory on the pitch.

Post announces it has perfected the recipe for a fruitfilled pastry that can be cooked to perfection in a toaster. Kellogg’s executive Bob Cabana (Seinfeld) joins forces with food innovator Donna Stankowski (Melissa McCarthy) to beat Post to market with a rival product that will eventually become the Pop Tart. The two companies jostle for supremacy and wreak havoc on interested parties including actor Thurl Ravenscroft (Hugh Grant), who voices Tony The Tiger.

Star Wars: Tales Of The Empire (6 episodes, streaming from May 4 exclusively on Disney+)

Two destines converge on the dark side in a six-episode animated adventure set in a galaxy far, far away. Elsewhere, young Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) pursues vengeance at any cost after witnessing the death of her people.

Mother Of The Bride (12, 90 mins, streaming from May 9 exclusively on Netflix)

Mark Waters, director of the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, helms a frothy romantic comedy of errors that proves the path to true love is littered with potholes.

Lana (Brooke Shields) is shocked when her daughter Emma (Miranda Cosgrove) returns from a dream vacation with plans to get married in Thailand. The mother of the brideto-be travels to paradise with sister Janice (Rachael Harris) to meet the charming groom-tobe, RJ (Sean Teale), who turns out to be the son of Lana’s college crush Will. He broke Lana’s heart and seeing Will again after so many years stirs up old memories.
