Good wiper blades are a must, but sunlight, oil, sand, mud and dust and even salty moist air makes them deteriorate. They should be replaced every six months to a year or when you notice visibility getting worse. If wiper blades no longer make proper contact with the screen, they tend to squeak, chatter, skip, smear or streak.
