THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
A cookery lesson or food experience is the perfect Christmas present that will inspire the recipient to get cooking in their own kitchen!
WHETHER you’re looking for a gift for a food fanatic or for someone who loves nothing more than learning new skills in the kitchen, we have the perfect present ideas for everyone, with gourmet gifts for adults and children alike.
The Richard Hughes Cookery School opens in the New Year in its own dedicated space in the west wing of The Assembly House in the heart of Norwich city centre. With a beautiful bespoke kitchen made by Kestrel Kitchens of Great Plumstead equipped by the Cookshop at Jarrold Department Store, there will be a huge variety of courses to suit home cooks of all ages and abilities on offer from January.
Each of our courses is taught by Richard himself who guides students through the skills and techniques needed to create exciting and delicious dishes which you can then take home to share with your loved ones.
We have a delicious range of classes to tempt every taste bud - fish, sauces, crab and lobster, game, fresh pasta, vegetarian food, the perfect picnic, a full Indian takeaway, French bistro, marmalade and brioche, European bread, chocolate, basic knife skills: they’re all covered and there are far more to choose from online. Students can even enjoy a cook’s tour of Norwich’s famous market before a lesson using the freshest ingredients imaginable.
Every course offered is available as either a gift voucher or as a gift box. Boxes include a voucher for the class of your choice – or an open voucher for the recipient to choose their own class – a Richard Hughes Cookery School apron, Richard’s recipe calendar and a host of sweet treats made by the famous team at The Assembly House.
Choose from Hands On Saturday Morning Kitchen classes, Tuesday Technique Evenings, Wine Wednesdays in the Kitchen, Children’s Class vouchers, the University Challenge gift box for students or The Generation Game gift box which gives an adult the chance to cook alongside a child tutored by Richard.
If you’re lucky, you might even get to benefit from the gift you give when the recipient offers you the fruits of their labour when they’re back home in their own kitchen!
