War­wick St So­cial, in Nor­wich’s Golden Tri­an­gle, has a new face in charge of the kitchen; lo­cal chef Ge­orge Dack. Ge­orge, aged 24, was raised in Nor­wich and still lives in the city.

He watched the venue be­ing trans­formed into War­wick St So­cial, recog­nis­ing its po­ten­tial, so was de­lighted when ap­proached by chef pa­tron Daniel Smith to head the kitchen team.

Ge­orge trained at Nor­wich City Col­lege, was Pas­try Chef of the Year in 2011 and a fi­nal­ist in Young Seafood Chef of the Year 2012 be­fore spend­ing time in France learn­ing about typ­i­cal French cui­sine.

Ge­orge loves work­ing with fresh lo­cal in­gre­di­ents. “Liv­ing in Nor­folk I’m spoilt for choice such as the fa­mous Cromer crabs, Nor­folk quail and Nur­tured in Nor­folk’s mi­cro cress and ed­i­ble flow­ers.”

Daniel said: “De­vel­op­ing our peo­ple is so im­por­tant to us. The key to suc­cess in any busi­ness is the qual­ity of the peo­ple who oper­ate it, they are the busi­ness.” Busi­ness part­ner Greg Ad­jemian added: ”We’re for­tu­nate that Nor­folk has some top tal­ent for us to choose from when re­cruit­ing for our team.”
