Keith Clouting’s word of wisdom

Trim lavender plants after flowering has finished to maintain a compact bushy plant.

Remove diseased or dying foliage from vegetable plants to help discourage pests and diseases.

Trim back herbs now to encourage a new crop of fresh leaves to harvest before the frosts.

Blackcurrant bushes can be pruned when harvesting is finished.

Powdery mildew can be a problem in high summer, remove infected leaves if possible and if necessary spray with a suitable fungicide to prevent further infection.
