Holt 1940s weekend

EDP Norfolk - - Inside -

North Norfolk was transported back in time for a celebration of the style, culture and character of the wartime era.

The third annual Holt 1940s Weekend, celebrating the wartime efforts of allied forces, was held in the town centre on September 16 and 17.

The town’s shops and shopkeepers entered into the 40s spirit with eye-catching window displays and activities which included everything from a ‘ration book trail’ to a pigeon race. Hundreds of visitors were dressed up for the occasion in outfits, military uniforms and fashions of the 40s, and there was also plenty of musical entertainment from the era.

Proceeds from the event were raised for the Walking with the Wounded charity to help vulnerable veterans and the event was also kindly supported with some items on loan from the Muckleburgh collection in nearby Weybourne.
