New brew­ers on the block Malt Coast score pretty well on the food miles count, as their new craft brews are cre­ated us­ing bar­ley grown on the farm that is also home to the brew­ery. So far Malt Coast, based on Branthill Farm at Wells-next-the-Sea, has two ales on the mar­ket, a pale ale and an IPA, with more in the pipe­line. www.malt­


Nor­folk’s two Miche­lin­starred restau­rants, The Nep­tune at Hun­stan­ton, run by Kevin Man­ge­olles, and Gal­ton Black­iston’s Morston Hall, have re­tained their cov­eted awards for 2018.


Eric’s Fish and Chips in Thorn­ham, The Rem­brandt in Eas­ton, near Nor­wich, and Up­stairs at No1 in Cromer have been named as three of the UK’s top 20 fish and chip restau­rants. They have been short­listed as semi-fi­nal­ists for the Fish and Chip Restau­rant of the Year Award and will now bat­tle it out for a place in the grand fi­nal.
